Fruit season is well underway and we are beginning
to move into the fall bounty.
Our second round of Raspberries are well underway. The bushes
are healthy, tall and loaded with berries and flowers. We are
expecting to be able to pick through to early October.
We picked our first lot of Prune Plums earlier this week.They
are just beginning to ripen and the trees are full.
Bartlett Pears are also just beginning to ripen and we will selectively
pick over the next few days and expect to have a tree full of
ripe fruit in the next week.
Anjou Pears will also be ripening over the next week or so.
Our current flock of Chicken - Free Range
Meat Birds are approx. 1 1/2 months old and are outside roaming!
They will be processed on September 15th and will be ready for
pickup after 3:30 the same day. This flock of meat birds is our
last flock for 2016.
Turkey - Free Range Meat Birds are roaming in the sunshine and
the great outdoors. We do have a new date for processing and the
Turkey - Free Range Meat Birds will be processed on September
29th, 2016 and will be ready for pickup after 3:30pm the following
day, September 30th 2016.
Garlic has been harvested and is drying. We do have some available
at our Country Stand and for those folks that have ordered we
will contact you individually to arrange pickup.
have expanded our selection of Preserves, Pickles, Salsas, Sauces
and Jams and Jellies in 2016 with the addition of Sugarless Raspberry,
Blackberry, Strawberry Jams and Jellies, Mustard Pickles, Dilly
Garlic Scapes, Pickled Beets, Blackberry Syrup and Raspberry Habanero
Jelly. We will also be offering a variety of fermented Sauerkraut,
and fermented vegetables.
have explored some new pickle offerings and have a new product,
Pickled Walnuts. Pickled walnuts are a traditional English pickle,
made from green walnuts. They are wonderful served as they are
with cheeses and cold meats, and also great in many cooked dishes.
Each green walnut was hand pricked multiple times, soaked in brine
for approx. 10 days and is now sitting in spiced vinegar. The
walnuts are available in 500ml jars and will be ready to eat at
Christmas time. Perhaps the perfect gift for that foodie in your
garden has been producing fabulously this year and we have a variety
of veggies available at our stand. We are open Thursday through
Sunday, 11- 6. Our phones are open any day of the week, please
