Were going into the fall harvest,

Tomatoes are ripening at a quick rate and will have
lots of varities to choose from next week,

Corn will also be ready next week with a limited supply.

It is amazing but we are still picking raspberries and some of the stalks are over 7 feet high.

Apples and pears are just around the corner.

The prune plums are very ripe on the tree and a great thing to dry and keep over winter.

On a side note we got a call early one morning to do a swarm removal in saanich. At about 9:30 we headed off. It was quite high in a tree but we were successfull and picked up the hive at about 7:00 pm that evening with all the bees in their new home.

Fruit season is well underway and we are beginning to move into the fall bounty.
Our second round of Raspberries are well underway. The bushes are healthy, tall and loaded with berries and flowers. We are expecting to be able to pick through to early October.

We picked our first lot of Prune Plums earlier this week.They are just beginning to ripen and the trees are full.


Bartlett Pears are also just beginning to ripen and we will selectively pick over the next few days and expect to have a tree full of ripe fruit in the next week.
Anjou Pears will also be ripening over the next week or so.

Our current flock of Chicken - Free Range Meat Birds are approx. 1 1/2 months old and are outside roaming! They will be processed on September 15th and will be ready for pickup after 3:30 the same day. This flock of meat birds is our last flock for 2016.

Our Turkey - Free Range Meat Birds are roaming in the sunshine and the great outdoors. We do have a new date for processing and the Turkey - Free Range Meat Birds will be processed on September 29th, 2016 and will be ready for pickup after 3:30pm the following day, September 30th 2016.

The Garlic has been harvested and is drying. We do have some available at our Country Stand and for those folks that have ordered we will contact you individually to arrange pickup.

We have expanded our selection of Preserves, Pickles, Salsas, Sauces and Jams and Jellies in 2016 with the addition of Sugarless Raspberry, Blackberry, Strawberry Jams and Jellies, Mustard Pickles, Dilly Garlic Scapes, Pickled Beets, Blackberry Syrup and Raspberry Habanero Jelly. We will also be offering a variety of fermented Sauerkraut, and fermented vegetables.

We have explored some new pickle offerings and have a new product, Pickled Walnuts. Pickled walnuts are a traditional English pickle, made from green walnuts. They are wonderful served as they are with cheeses and cold meats, and also great in many cooked dishes. Each green walnut was hand pricked multiple times, soaked in brine for approx. 10 days and is now sitting in spiced vinegar. The walnuts are available in 500ml jars and will be ready to eat at Christmas time. Perhaps the perfect gift for that foodie in your life!

Our garden has been producing fabulously this year and we have a variety of veggies available at our stand. We are open Thursday through Sunday, 11- 6. Our phones are open any day of the week, please call us if you are making a special trip, have specific requirements or would like to pre-book.

Fruit season is underway and June definitely was the start to the berry season!
Our cherry trees were bursting at the seams for the last couple of weeks. We have picked them clean and the 2016 Season is now finished.
Our organically grown Blueberry Patch has six varieties planted. This range of variety provides us with ripe delicious blueberries early (late June/early July) in the season straight through until late (late August/early September). Our blueberries are excellent medium to large berries with long shelf life and great taste. We have started picking this past week and should be in full swing over the next week or so and we will have blueberries through to September.
The Raspberries are well underway. We have been picking now for 3 weeks and the bushes are healthy, tall and loaded with berries and flowers. We are expecting to be able to pick through to early October.

Our current flock of Chicken - Free Range Meat Birds are approx. 1 month old and are roaming in the sunshine! They will be processed on June 9th and will be ready for pickup after 3:30 the same day. The next flock of meat bird chicks are in the chicken tractor and will graduate to the roaming fields early in June once they have their feathers.

Our Turkey chicks arrive at the end of the month and will be housed in our turkey tractor with access to sunshine and the great outdoors. Once fully feathered they will be moved to our larger pasture area with lots of room to roam and grow. The Turkey - Free Range Meat Birds will be processed on October 4, 2016 and will be ready for pickup after 3:30pm the following day, October 5, 2016.

The Garlic is looking great and will be picked mid July, dried for approx. a month and available in late August.

Our garden has been producing Mixed Greens, Kale and Swiss Chard and we have planted a variety of produce that will be available at our Country Stand until late September/early October. What a great spring, the weather is defintlay on our side, our green house is bursting so we are open a month early. Expect to see lots of garden plants, strawberry planters raspberry starts that are from last spring and should give you ample berries this year.
